My drive to work this morning. Temp was in the high 50's. Car still had a tank of 87 octane. the car started fine and would only stumble if I tried to go into boost. I drove easy on the gas. About 25 miles down the road I pulled into a gas station to fill up with 93 octane. The car took 9 gallons.
The car then started in crap mode (fluctuating idle and low stumbling power even at slow speed) I made it to the next town where I pulled into a gas station. When I shut off the car I could hear the DI run its cleaning mode.
I pulled the DI and inspected the plugs. They were all fine and gapped approx 1.1. Put it all back together and continued on my way. The car ran like crap for about 1 mile and then returned to decent but not performance running (it would stumble if I tried to boost). Ocassionaly I would sense a stumble, but it made it the 15 miles to work without major hesitation. I did not try to force it. Any ideas?
