Questions for owners of both 9000 and C900 (long)

I bought my 1994 Aero 5spd just about a year ago and I have to say I really like this car. I recently sold my '87 SPG (stock springs, stock sway bars, rubber bushings, Tokico shocks, Airlift bags, '89 brakes w/ 16" Aeros & 205/50/ZR16).
On my way home in the Aero this evening I took a winding road through hill country north of town and found myself REALLY missing the SPG. Gosh, if the SPG had the Aero's power I probably would not have sold it!
Anyway, my questions...
With easily available, bolt-on, aftermarket parts, can a 9000 match or surpass the handling of a similarly modified C900? How about a mildly modified C900 suspension such as my SPG had?
I plan to tighten it up (the Aero), but I don't want to walk into it with unrealistic expectations.
Your thoughts?
TIA
