From what you describe, your car sounds repairable for not a ton of money. You could likely find all the parts you need on here or elsewhere on the internet as mentioned for not a lot of money. What may even be better value is buy a whole parts car - say you find a 9000 with a perfect body, but bad engine or transmission, or just a really high mileage. Then, you also have a bunch of spare parts available indefinitely for not much money. 9000s have become about as cheap as they're ever going to be; you could probably buy a nice non-turbo for $2,000, or a very nice late CS or CSE for $4,000, and you would still have your old car for spare parts, assuming you have a place to store it. You mentioned that there are not a lot of SAABs around you, but if you take a trip a couple of hours south to Boston area, you will see gazillions of them. Another possibility, if you're up for a road trip, if you travel a bit further south, you could get a car that's avoided the worst snow and salt. If you post some pictures of your car, we will all have a better idea of what's involved in repairing it.
