Did some deep research on this and the sway bars do more than just control roll in the twisties as I mistakenly thought. In fact, they are in the equation of the engine/tranny mount system and straight lateral acceleration as well. In this case, stronger sway bars increase the pre-tensioning on the elastic parts of the suspension (bushings, end link rubbers etc...) and lessens the total spring response when encountering things like bumpy roads and/or a speed bump. Besides, the two tires will hardly ever contact the speed bump at the precise, exact same instant. Also, no road is perfectly flat and even so road imperfections are more noticeable at slower speeds, like Diamond Dave stated.
