there is no good way to prevent ice from forming on the internal mechanism. OK. It is just that I have not had that happen before on either of my 9ks. Pretty rare to get 35degree shift in temp to below 20 with wind and rain to boot. So we'll have to make sure to carry strong bungies. I found out that if they are not strong enough the outside door tends to open a few feet around corners. Very unsettling.
