If you overboost beyond the ability of the engine to supply fuel, you'll run lean, and the engine will run really hot and crappy.
My examples were really for 'ideal' engines, and just to get a rough idea of what to expect from a boosted engine.
In '91, the normally aspirated engine had 150 hp (in the US). In '94 the same engine, in my Aero, had 225 hp, a 50% increase, which to me means the boost had to be at least 8 psi or more.
What is the factory boost on an Aero engine? I don't know.
