especially because it's your daughter (I have one too), but there are things to think about that we're throwing out here. I'm the type that will drive a car for a LONG time (my 1983 C900 was retired at the end of 2008, driven to the junkyard) whereas my brother-in-law really enjoys leasing two German cars on staggered three year leases, and always looks forward to their upcoming replacements because he gets the latest technology. He recently leased his daughter a new Honda Civic for her use in Colorado (FYI, I think that the current Civic is a much nicer car than the two smaller Hondas you tried).
It helps that your daughter likes her 9000, so that the "quest for the new" is less of an issue. If the car is in generally good shape, it helps - but also makes the decision harder since you can't just dismiss it outright. I'm sure you will figure out what's best for you and your kid.
BTW, thanks for the compliment.
