But wait a minute.
In your first post you say you had the head sent out for shave and then put it back on and hooked the chain back on the sprockets, right?
What stopped you from rotating the engine to TDC, rotate the cams to TDC and hook the chain up properly?????
Who cares what it looked like when you took it apart as long as you have the crank and cams lined up when you reinstall it.
Or are you saying that with the head off, Cyl 1 piston on top, the zero mark is pointing down and when you rotate the engine so that flywheel zero is at top, the cyl 1 piston is at the bottom?
If so, it must be the flywheel that is off unless the key for timing chain sprocket has broken on crank, which would be bad.
