My '94 Aero was losing coolant very slowly, and I had a hard time figuring out where. Turned out there were 2 points of escape :
1st : the head gasket wept ever so slightly near the #10 head bolt (on the front, near the flywheel end of the engine), it dribbled just a little bit down the front of the engine, but never left a spot on the floor. There is a little notch in the block, just to the right of the turbo (directly underneath where the coolant line to the intake warmer is) where the coolant would sometimes puddle up. Took me forever to figure out where it was coming from. Re-torqued the head bolts, and it's dry as a bone now.
2nd : I had a hairline crack in the inlet neck of the radiator - where the big hose that comes off the thermostat connects to the radiator. Coolant would steam out of there, but never drip (since the crack was on the top of the radiator end tank). I finally noticed a damp spot on the felt hood liner and made the connection to where that would correspond in the engine bay and that was the clue I needed. Fixed it (for now) with a little JB-Weld.
