Blown vaccum/ PCV leak

Stock (as far as I know) '93 Aero
So, for the second time, I blew the vaccum line off of the intake manifold. It happened while I was attempting to do an adaptation run up a fairly steep grade (in 4th gear) while getting on the highway. The boost was all the way into (maybe even past) the red (?) It is the short one that goes from the end of the intake (passenger side) to the square sensor (the one that has only one vaccum line to it and an electrical connector) mounted on the false firewall. It is about 7 inches in length and the one that was on there was a flimsy feeling silicone hose. I replaced it last night but in the process leaned on the PCV breather nipple at the top of the valve cover and completely seperated it from the cover (it was barely hangin on anyway). The plastic peice is fine just the rubber boot that seals it on there is torn (luckily I didn't loose it in the valve cover) So, I plan on getting something today at Napa that will hopefully work to replace the torn rubber bushing.
My questions are...
1.) Would a sizeable vaccum leak at this trouble spot (valve cover) cause overboost/ blow my vaccum line at the intake manifold??
2.) Also, if I find a suitable replacement should I just run that? Should I order the scan tech one of eEuroparts anyway? Its only a buck fifty..
3.) I am not driving the car untill I get this replaced, good idea yes?
