In June of 2010 my daughter and I drove my '96 CSE from NH to NM, plus a side trip to Monument Valley. The car was loaded to the ceiling as she was moving out there. For the 2500 or so miles we ran only premium and averaged 28.5 mpg, much of the time running 80-85 mph.

If you want high mileage go get yourself a Honda Fit or a Prius. If you want to go up a 12% grade in the Rockies at 85, or pass an 18-wheeler quickly and safely, buy a Saab or something with some go-power. And stop whining.
