I think I have an inner drive shaft that is damaged. Is there any way to tell for sure? until today I thought it was maybe a loose sub frame bolt but not now...
Long story but I accidentally drove over a cement brick while attempting to back out of my condo's driveway (fairly steep). I just cut the wheel too soon and went over the driveway separator thing. I was totally stuck and had to get on it pretty good to get back up over the brick and into driveway. There was no going backward as it would have completely destroyed my fender and whatever else is under there :/
So now, months later, I am starting to hear some very concerning noises coming from that area of the car. The noise is most audible from inside the vehicle while driving with the windows up. Sounds like its coming from under/behind the glove box. It happens while shifting, sometimes while cruising (in this instance it reminds me somewhat of the "click-click" noise of a bad CV) and today I decided to stop driving the car for now because when I attempted a hill start at a stop sign while turning right, It made a loud pop and the power seemed to "skip" a bit while being transferred (not wheel spin). Also today before the hill start incident, the noise that is similar to the above "cruising" example was audible while the car was at idle in a parking lot. Lightly revving the motor made it go away.
At this point I'm thinking my drive shaft is toast or my motor is about to explode... or maybe both. Hopefully it is just the drive shaft. I remember I had one completely snap on my ex-9000 auto as I was pulling out of a parking spot and I thought my transmission had failed :P
Car is a '93 9k turbo
