You might have more success with rusty fasteners if you use some chemicals on them first. I use PB Blaster, available locally; others swear by Kroil, which is only available by mail. CRC makes a new product that freezes the fastener to try to crack the rust. WD40 is not in the same league as these, not really designed for this use - although a lot of people use it this way. And then there is my old standby, the MAP gas torch when things get really bad.
So, what did you end up buying?
