OK. Here are the figures from State Farm. ACV: (what doe this mean?) $2,105.00, Salvage Value: $225, Deductible: $250.00, Total: $1630.00.
I guess this means that they will send me a check for $1630 to do with what I want and I just keep the car? I am fairly certain I can get her looking presentable for this figure. As far as I can tell, the left front fender is bent. You can't see it, but the body shop showed me that the gap between the hood and the fender is narrower near the grill than near the windshield. (Too bad as they had just replaced this fender a couple of years ago when that deer ran out of the woods and into my car). There also is a dent near the wheel opening. The front door is fine, I think. The rear door is fine also. The rear fender has a crease at the wheel opening. It might be nice to replace the black trim pieces along the fenders and doors. The trim around both wheel openings is damaged also. The front bumper could be replaced I guess. On the left front corner of the bumper the paint is cracked. The left front fog light is damaged, but that was done earlier and my indie (Jeff Potvin) is already looking for a replacement light. He (Jeff) tells me to just drive the car for now and we will look at fixing her in the spring.
