Trouble Code P1171 Posted by skibumm100 [Email] (#3255) [Profile/Gallery] (more from skibumm100) on Tue, 13 May 2014 07:01:36 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi guys. Wife's CSE just threw trouble code P1171. Appears to be a lean condition. I borrowed an Innova 3030 code reader from a friend and reset the code. That reader doesn't appear to let you look at any data from the "freeze frame" when the code was set. I used to have a laptop that ran the software from OBDII.com and it worked pretty good. I don't have that laptop any more but I still have the serial cable for it. My newer Lenovo W520 doesn't have that serial plug on it so I can't just plug it into the new laptop. I am working on getting an old Gateway Solo loaded up to try that out. In the meantime, is there a stand-alone code reader that allows you to look at the data streams on the Saab 9000 that doesn't cost a bunch of money? I was looking at the Actron 9580 but they're a little pricey for what I'm looking for. Any suggestions?
While I was at it I pulled the plugs and regapped them to 0.9 mm and cleaned the inlet air temp sensor with electronics cleaner. I also checked to make sure the gas tank wasn't collapsed and the vent hose on the filler neck was intact. Fuel filter should be fine as I replaced both my 97 9000's filters a year or two ago. It had about five gallons of fuel in the tank so it wasn't close to empty. I have not changed the O2 sensor since I've owned it. I plan on driving the car for a bit to see if it resets the code before I do much more.
