Bernie's got a good point - I was only assuming we're dealing with DI/APC. I'd be pretty surprised if a 1992 turbo has a distributor, but i've been surprised before.

Boost in the middle of the yellow could be base boost - in which case this is basic diagnostics time...see attached Link.

I agree with Bernie that I do not believe there was torque limiting for automatics in this era. Later Trionic cars limit boost on automatics. In that case it's a single wire to ground that provides that information, its not "communications" per se.
