Neither do mine Posted by sam96CS [Email] (#852) [Profile/Gallery] (more from sam96CS) on Fri, 9 Feb 2018 14:20:33 In Reply to: Mine don't squeak at all!, Noel, Fri, 9 Feb 2018 07:03:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've had the purple Powerflex at the back on the front control arms for 6 years, Superflex front sway bar mount bushings for 9 years, Addco poly bushings where the front sway bar drop links attach to the control arms for 9 years, and Energy Suspensions poly bushings on the rear sway bars for 9 years. All this time the car has been driven around Charlotte NC where the roads are tolerable and not too salty. No squeaks, and I haven't lubed them since I installed them.
Do not cheap out on the big bushings at the rear of the front control arms. I tried that, and the cheapo poly rapidly disintegrated resulting in borderline dangerous steering control. Put the good stuff there.
I'm probably due for a refresh, but the car goes where I point it at all sane speeds, and it handles plenty well for street use.
Handling can be improved slightly by putting about 4 more psi in the rear tires. I've been running 36 psi front, 40 psi rear for years.
Correction: I've been running 40 front, 36 rear!
