Considering a Subaru for my daughter who will be living in the Pacific Northwest - they're as common as flies there.

Wondering how much oil consumption your Saabaru had? Can't count on my daughter to monitor the oil level on a regular basis. Just to let you know what some brands consider "normal", when we had our 1996 Audi A4 V6 Quattro (purchased new and well maintained with oil changes at about half of the required intervals), it used about a quart every 1100 miles - Audi of America insisted that their spec was 1000 miles, wouldn't do anything about it.
