Oil Pump O-ring Posted by skibumm100 [Email] (#3255) [Profile/Gallery] (more from skibumm100) on Mon, 15 Jul 2019 07:12:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My 97 CSE has leaked a lot of oil recently. It started as a small drip and got progressively worse. This past weekend it started leaking really bad. I had the oil pump o-ring and front seal changed by my indy in NH a few years ago due to an annoying drip. The o-ring failed again so it only lasted a few years. It was very brittle. The parts were purchased from Eeuro. The front seal looked and felt fine. It was an Elring brand. I don't know who made the o-ring. I always buy a couple of seals and o-rings before doing the job since they're cheap and you never know when you might damage one on reassembly. Turns out I bought (3) o-rings so I still had (2) spares. Just a head's up. If you changed one a few years ago, you might want to get some spares if you don't already have them.
