I'm in Kalamazoo. If you decide to throw in the towel on her, I might be interested if it's as clean as you describe. How did you manage to keep a 9000 from rotting away in Michigan? I have done a HG in a 9000 and it wasn't terribly difficult, just time consuming. I changed the timing chain but I wouldn't recommend doing that. The one I did was run completely dry on the interstate. The head was badly warped and it blew the HG. I still drove it home over 100 miles, adding a lot water along the way, and repaired what I could. I think it damaged the rings also as it had really low compression in #2 & #3 after the job was done. It lost a few MPG but it's still being driven today by my son in NH with over 70K on the clock after the meltdown. I bought a 9-5 Aero but I still prefer the 9000. I have (2) now in KZOO, a white, rusty 97 9000 Autu and a black, rusty 96 Aero 5-spd.
