That's unhappy. What exactly happened to your autotrans?
The last years autoboxes were fairly durable. Far more so than all previous model years
My 97 has an FA4 3205
Can only suggest a replacement Must be a '97 or 98 to be even worth considering.. let alone buying.
Typically failures were in the Valve bodies (rare ish) and more so the Governor seals, a reasonable in the car DIY 'fix'. Typically .. at V high mileages.. the Pressure pumps' sealing rings wear enlarged their lands to the point of failing Hyd pressure. Also fixable but it's a trans out repair as pump is attached top the Torque converter.
Fitting a 5 speed is an option.. but in MY experiences Saab 5 speeds are every bit as fragile / problematic as any Auto box .. once one includes Clutches, Reverse gear problems and Differential bearing fails.
