Yeah you could just have some loose timing chain and balance shaft chain guides that maybe need to be replaced. Also the little rubber thing on top of the valve cover may be getting worn out. I use rotella 5 40 full synthetic I've had it in this same motor for roughly the last 70,000 miles. I drive really hard and it has put up with pretty much everything that I've dealt it. The car is pushing around 450 to the wheels so the engine gets quite a bit of abuse. I don't beat on it but I do drive it hard. Of course I'm the one that rebuilds the motors so I guess I can do what I like. Let me know how it works out definitely understand waiting till it's warmer.
