as in, cut, then your ECU will not know that you have selected “D” or any other gear. This was a performance mod done by some to increase performance of auto tranny equipped 9000’s. The idle speed should be correct and not need a tech2 to adjust. I know that ISAT has a means to see if your ECU is in auto or gearbox mode… not sure if Tech2 has this capability (though I believe it does). You should also be able to see if the ECU is receiving auto selector signals from the gear selector. If this all looks good then a thorough throttlebody cleaning is in order. An old toothbrush cleaning in the area where the plate rest works wonders for idling problems. In fact, this is a regular maintenance routine done every x miles. If all of this fails to bring the idle speed up, then checking the throttle plate adjustment is in order (with a feeler gauge). Hope this helps.
