Hello,
So yes no overtemp sensor on your compressor. Just that single wire supplying power to the clutch. I would check and see if voltage is present on that wire when compressor kicks off or not. If there is power then you know it is in the clutch/compressor. If there is no power present then it is time to go backwards and find out what is shutting down the power to the compressor clutch.
