When I was having the edu reading low voltage I cleaned the connections out by the battery that has these five or six connection block with the 2 10 mm bolts. Also with the cars getting to the stage it may be time to change the battery cable from the starter to that block and from the battery to the starter. I was getting in the 8 volt range and after I did all the cleaning I'm over 10 volts. Also make sure that the other wire that goes to the starter is got a good connection on it mine had almost came off. It can be difficult to reach that area back there but it can be done it's easier if you lift up that little false wall on the firewall. Also make sure the connections are good to the back of the alternator and they are also clean. I started by cleaning up the grounds under the dash that did not seem to help in the beginning but I imagine with that and what I did in the engine bay is probably what the car needed. As far as that little light I can't help you on that I just disconnected mine. Essential locking mechanism if I remember right the 97 and 98 ECU or whatever you want to call it that controls the locking underneath the pedals was not a good year and I got one from a 94 and they've worked fine ever since. The other thing you have to do is you do have to take all the locking mechanisms apart and lube them up and clean them and make sure the connections are all good it's a rather detailed process it took me most of the day. And also make sure there's no Coke spill down in or the window switch is at those connections also need to be cleaned and taken apart that is a very detailed process. Comes apart in multiple layers take pictures take it apart slowly and try and remember where everything goes. Best of luck
