I've found that the Fan motor bearings, being self lubing don't benefit hugely from oilings. Rather that Age altered Fan housing Or the fan drum deform a wee bit (no idea which the actual culprit is) With Low /cold temps the fan touches the housing for an unpleasant noise.. initially. Disappearing as heat slowly gets into the assembly. A spritz of Silly Cone spraylube .. IF you can get a nozzle tube to it.. Stops the problem. Until Next Winter .
