Hello,
Yes it would make sense that the caps and bolts are in the correct places. If the car was asleep for a long time it can take 15 minutes at 2500 rpm's to pump them all up the first time. Saab always recommended against oil flushes that thin the oil out too much because of possible turbo damage. I usually drain out a little oil and add a quart of automatic transmission fluid and run it till its warm then give it 10 minutes or so at 2500 rpm's before I do an the oil change if I am trying to get it cleaned out some. Yes, someone makes a tool that holds the lifter and then you whack it on the bench to pop it apart so you can clean them. But I would probably try the ATF that the old guys taught me in the 80's to see if it cleans them out first. Good Luck, Bernie
