My blower motor squeaks annoyingly loudly after about 20 minutes of driving, so I need to address it. I have an old working Bosch motor from a heater core replacement a decade or so ago - I supplied a new one to the shop that did the work with "as long as you're in there ...". They told me that the motor was still fine.
I've heard that the rods for the flap controls are in the area and are easy to damage. Is this true? Two different shops have quoted me 4+ hours of labor to replace the motor, so I've been putting it off.
What brand motors are you finding - hopefully not ProParts Sweden?
If you're even in the Chicago area, maybe you could help me with this.
