I know the Aero has a H-K system with extra speakers. I have driven Aero's but never paid particular attention to the radios.
That said....my experience with factory radios is that the radio, speaker and whatever set up work reasonably well together, but that when you try to change one component, you will end up disappointed that there is not much overall improvement.
By way of example, I have replaced factory speakers and discovered that the factory radio did not have enough power to make the after-market speakers sound much better. Also, I have replaced factory radios and not replaced speakers and found that the better after-market radio did not sound as good.
That said......I replaced the factory radio in our 93 9000 with just a Denon head unit, using the factory speakers, and have been very pleasantly surprised by the sound. So I think what you will want to do depends on what is already in there. But for clarity, no matter what in-dash radio or speakers you use, there is no substitute for an external amp.
