Inuab, I understand your concern. If it's there, use it. And you certainly can use it.
Three years ago, I determined the pin-out map of the 6-pin din cable to the underseat Clarion rear speaker amp in my 93 Aero. I kept notes but I may have the mirror image for the jack and plug reversed. Starting at the notch in the plug at the end of the cable to the amp and going counter clockwise, 1-Left signal, 2-right signal, 3-not used, 4-remote turnon?, 5-Mute? and center pin 6-common signal ground. I was only concerned with 1, 2 and 6 since my project was to splice in an out/in loop for installing an active crossover to low-pass to the rear amp so the rear speakers could act as subwoofers. Yes, this works fine.
The way I made this map is that I removed the radio/cassette unit, then with the top cover removed, I noted that the signal conductors leading to and through the slide out connector into the front amp/mounting basket were shielded. The conductors leading to the rear amp jack in the back of the radio basket were green-Left, gray-Right and black-common.
With a little patience, you can do it for your application.
Cheers.
