TCS is the acronym Saab uses for traction control system, ETS
is for the computer that controls it. It's a pretty nice system when
it works, but very expensive when it doesn't. It's unusual for the
repair bill to be less than a couple hundred (USD) for any minor
malfunction, and considerably more if major. The DI cassette
is another weak point (they can be had, new, for $300 and are an
easy DIY fix. The turbo bypass valve, or hooter valve, isn't as
prone to failure as the turbo solenoid valve, which is a
simple electro/mechanical device Saab is more than happy to charge you $200 for. You didn't mention whether the transmission was
standard or auto. - the auto' is the weaker of the two. I happen to
feel that '92 and '93 were good years because they didn't have
passenger side air bags, which I feel are redundant in such a
design, if one is wearing a seatbelt, of course. If it sounds like
I'm trying to talk you out of a Saab, you're wrong. I love Saabs,
but I also like working on them. They are pretty straightforward
if you're a DIY'er. They do require maintenance, and if you're not
a DIY'er then they could be real expensive. However, its' past
record relative to safety, and design in general, would seem to
outweight anything people have held negative against it. To
answer your question, over here (MA) a '92 with over 100k on
it would fetch about 6-6500 (USD)
