I have a '92 9000 CD Turbo. Love it. Was a former BMW 5 series owner that got tired of people dinging my car. (In Chicago you have to park on the street and people play bumper cars a bit much.)
The car I bought had 130M miles on it and I paid $5,700 USD. It looks perfect. I replaced the radiator thermostat switch, fixed the heated seats and also fixed one of the headlamp wiper motors. So, I did it all myself and have not spent any money since. The car is fast and handles well. Oh yeah, when I bought it, I insisted on copies of repair bills to verify the assertions/claims of the former owner. The timing chain, turbo and transmission (auto) all have been replaced in last 20K miles and work was done by dealer or qualified, reputable shop.
So, I still feel that I may gotten a bargain and expect trouble free life for at least 30K miles.
Good luck. Hey, you can have mine for $7K. :)
