As you know, that takes money to invest in both cars. My thought process on this purchase was that, one of these cars would be better than the other. Therefore, the donor would quickly be identified. After that drive home, I'm left feeling as you do. That car drove amazing on a set of 165 Kelly Metrics (like my 80 GLI 13 yrs ago), that I'm torn. My drive experience with the 79 comes from its ride home from the junk yard. Those were a tough 50 miles.
You figure out how to rebuild that like, I might be able to rebuild the 79 and give it a try before wanting to take the 80's.
