That one picture you posted with both cars in the garage got me thinking - His and Her 99s - of the same color even.

So reading between the lines, it sounds like you initially thought the 80 would be a donor to the 79. Then you drove the 80 and it drove great. But the 80 isn't a slam dunk to keep because of the rust. Am I right so far?

So I would get the 80 running and drive it around for a while. I would try to get some opinions about the rust from body shops - is it terminal or not. Does the 80 have power steering?

On the 79, what's wrong with the inner drivers? Did you feel depressions in the wear area? Does it vibrate when accelerating?
