I had tried everything including Techron as fuel additives to clean injectors. I even carry a clean spare set of injectors in my trunk if I need to swap them out. After swapping, I take my dirty injectors to get cleaned, and put those in the trunk, so that I always have a clean set ready.
Then I tried Red Line Fuel System Cleaner and the stuff cleaned them up in one tankful. You may not be as lucky as me, but could be worth a try. You can get it at Pep Boys, at least out here in CA.
Also, you could swap injectors over from your 79.
