Craig, Sounds like you are working to be as economical as possible. My last front brake job I bought the rebuilt calipers from Saab, as far as I can find they are the only ones supplying rebuilts with the slide shims to repair the wear of the 'sliding' calipers. Also the calipers are the same on all 99/900's thru 86 NA. I have found a couple sets of good rebuilts on parts cars - with the slider shims. I would use a puller to pull the hub off - I think the slide hammer could damage the bearings. I have found that when pulling this type of thing apart some vibration from hammers or air hammer applied when the puller is in tension will speed up the 'breaking loose' with less pressure applied. The Saab puller bolts to the wheel lugs and pushes against the CV axle end.
