Thanks for the information.
Funny you would mention that. My last attempt to get my fuel distributor to work yesterday was that I removed that pressure regulator piston and spring etc and cleaned it and where it sits really good with carb cleaner spray. Put everything back together and the plate is still not lifting easily. Also, right after I sprayed it and put it back together and in the car, initially the leak that was coming from one of the fuel ports from the distributor looked to be kinda fixed (barely dripping out of the injector with the plate down - not enough to be a problem), but after just a couple of starts and short runs, the leak got bad again, so I am now on the hunt for a new distributor, but I have a feeling that might not even help. My plate does not lift easily at all when the pump is running, but I don't know what else to try. I am quite frustrated with it at the moment. I borrowed an original Saab fuel pressure gauge (the one pictured in the manual) but that didn't show anything definitive. It was all over the map except for a short time when the car was running the control pressure showed a constant 3.3-ish bar reading which is normal. Is using the gauge an art too? It's times like these when I feel like I can't fix a thing.
Yet, when I manually keep the plate raised, it runs great. Does the fuel system need bleeding or something? I did notice something else for the first time yesterday; When it was trying to run, I could see air bubbles moving up one of the fuel lines to one of the injectors (the only line I could see through because it is new), so I am guessing that there is air in all the lines. Is that supposed to be that way? Thanks Everyone!
