Sludge Preventative - Auto-Rx or Switch to Synthetic?

I just got a 1995 900S 2.3 - I love it! However, I want to properly maintain it to AVOID sludge. The previous owner had been using dino - good change records, dealer serviced. Ideally, I'd like to run Auto-Rx in it, then switch to synthetic, however, although the milage is fairly low, it is pretty old to be switching, and I am concerned about the condition of the seals. I do not want to spring a leak! My questions...
1) Would running Auto-Rx be good enough to maintain the engine? Should I wait to see how dirty the oil is? If so, how often should I run it?
2) Has anyone with a leak ever done the Auto-Rx directions for tightening up seals? Did that work well?
Thank you very much!!! I appreciate everyone's help and guidance:)
