I have had 2 events with Rapid Oil change:
1) They left my radiator cap off on my toyota. It was in the winter (minnesota) so the fogged windows didn't let me see the billowing clouds behind me. When I saw my temp gauge hopping around I pulled over (about 20-30 miles). My head gasket was cracked. They replaced the head with no questions, but I called them right away.
2) They put the wrong fluid in the rear end of my Nissan Pathfinder, and overfilled the transmission fluid and engine oil (only takes 3.5 qts - they put in at least 5). I ended up needing the rear end cleaned out and the fluid replaced (made it all the way to jackson wy). It took me 3 months of fighting to get reimbursed. Finally a new district manager was hired and he okayed the reimbursement instantly, and voiced concerns on why it took so long.
So, to make a long story short: Be reasonable, request they replace the pan with new or used and maybe even offer to pick it up and bring it in. But, MAKE SURE YOU TALK TO THE DISTRICT MANAGER. Some station managers are good, others are incompetent wienies.
Question: What have you had to do to your vehicle since you hit 100k?
