It's your car, and congrats on reading the manual--many never do. The car makes its 185 HP on 87 octane, but you'll experience more FUN with higher octanes.
Depending on where you live will also impact this, ie living in the Colorado Rockies I would advise nothing but the highest octane available to you--which in that region would be 90/91.
I found that 92/93 is indeed the most fun to drive , but in Michigan when the cold weather arrives and the temps dive below 40 F, I use 89 in my 185 HP and 200 HP HOT. It makes for easier cold starts, too.
I have run every grade from 85 octane to 93 /94 octane in the cars I just mentioned without any problem.
