If you have been feeding your Saab a steady diet of 93 octane and then suddenly change to 87, you may hear a short knocking when you give it a WOT maneuver. Why ???
The ECU does need a period of time to remap itself to the lower octane. Secondly, some of you may not hear ANY knock at all--and therefore wonder what I am posting here--due to some fuel formulations and additive packages may not cause knocking at all and other additive packages will.
Regards.
