Front or rear brakes?
The rear brakes are easy to do, just knock the retaining pins back and lift off the hold down spring, then remove the pads.
The pads can be difficult to pull, you need to pull them away from the rotors using a wrench or pliers, to get the pistons back a bit. When they are out you need to push in the pistons, without damaging the rubber seal boots.
Then scape and brush off dirt and scale from the caliper slot top and bottom surfaces.
Watch for the anti squeel shims. They can be quite rusty.
Get some brake componet lub, and grease the backing plate edges, and the mating surfaces of the caliper slots. Install the new pads, and lightly greased shims. Grease the hold down spring and pins as a rust preventive, and reassemble.
Be sure to pump the brakes to get the pistons moved into place before lowering the vehicle and releasing the parking brake.
A dirty job!
Front brakes, remove two rubber caps and two 8mm hex head bolts, and remove the caliper, and hang on a wire, do not let hang on the hydraulic hose. Remove hold down spring for outer pad, perhaps that should be your very first operation, then the inboard pad is pried away from the piston, you will see it has a different spring detail that inserts into the piston.
Reassemble with greased contact edges of pads and caliper slide surfaces. I think that I would lub the two bolts too, but I have yet to service mine. These bolts have become bound in some instances, causing uneven pad wear and perhaps wipping out the rotor as one pad goes steel on steel.
A Haynes manual would be good to have.
