2nd gear is probably good to 50 mph or so. Don't know what speed you were going but assume 65-70 mph? Once you hit rev limiter things shut down pretty quickly. Ignition and then fuel. In fact the engine literally shuts off and generates a lot of internal drag. Any rpms beyond the rev limiter with clutch engaged would be from wheel rotation at speed. However from what you are saying you caught the shifting mistake ASAP and disengaged the clutch. Remember Swedes overbuild everything! I have accidentally overreved and incorrectly shifted a couple of times + gone airborne in my Viggen and the car has no damage whatsoever. I fact it runs as good as the day I took off the show room floor. My suggestion is tell them exactly what happened. You may be surprised at the response. Also the Trionics may have been duped and went into self protection mode and needs to be reset. Good luck.
