Might need a clutch adjustment

While I don't think the 9-3s are perfect, I would say that I have thoroughly enjoyed the stick shifts I've driven. The knob position is perfect and I was able to speed through the gears w/ no problem. I didn't try speed shifting with one because I've never done that with a turbo (eg., didn't want to redline the beast) but I'm pretty sure I could have with no problem.
If the clutch is even modestly out of adjustment (eg., not completely disengaging) then you might have the occasional grind in 3rd. Same for tranny fluid. There's always a small chance that needs changing / could be low.
Also, a nasty breakin period can conceivable mess up synchros.
"Worst in the industry" is a bit extreme I think.
