Do you have a built-in armrest on your driver's seat? If so, the cupholder/ lidded console thing won't work. The lid can't clear the armrest, and the square hole is too small to fit the cup-holder. I found this out after I bought the cup-holder and lidded console, despite my "shoot first and get a bigger hammer" attemps at forcing it to work.
If you remove the center console insert (your plain finished open-topped box between the seats... it just snaps off from the rear. It's main purpose seems to be to hide the hinge pegs sticking out above the rear heating vent)The cupholder fits. I then performed a delicate factory adjustment of the aforementioned insert with a bandsaw and a file, so I now have a "custom" cupholder without any unsightly hinge pegs exposed. I'm sure my resale value increased accordingly.
As for your headlights remaining on situation, there is a neat "featchah" to keep in mind. With the key out of the ignition, open the driver's door. Pull the left stalk towards you as if flashing your high-beams. Nothing will happen. Exit the car, and close the door. Voila! Your headlights will turn on and stay on for about 30 seconds. Pretty nifty, I'm surprised your salesman didn't point his one out. It's cooler than a turbo, after all...
Best,
Lutfisk
