kidding aside...I did what you did one year ago - a CPO 9-3, 5 speed with low miles.
Didn't have the emblem fall off, but I think your dealer will put a new one on for free (hopefully) they still make old logo!
Re shifting, unfortunately that's the Saab 5 speed, everything you described is what i've seen posted all over this board. It's not the best, smoothest 5 speed in the world. It takes time to get used to, even then it is "notchy" and "clunky" at best. (i've drven toyota, vw, audi, and BWM 5speeds - this is worse than all of them...) It is not a fast shifing 5 speed, you need to completely drop the clutch to the floor, then slowly (but too slow and not too fast) upshift. It takes a while to get the feel for the saab 5 speed, but in its defense its forgiving and durable.
stiff dials is also a known problem. do a search. some dealers will do the right repair by replacing the airbox, others lubricate and put ona new know. (it WILL break off)
