material for a speaker baffle. The rolled edge on the metal plate is the only thing that keeps the sheet metal from jumping (flexing) up and down with every bass note. I just installed some aftermarket 6x9's and mounted them from underneath to take advantage of a 1/2 inch plastic trim piece installed on the speaker. I also drilled the holes out to accept 6mm hex bolts and locknuts and put a very thin bead of permatex where the speaker contacts the metal. Oh, Rockford-Fosgate amp w/ 50 watts rms, tons of bass!
