so here is a quick test that may not be all that accurate, but worth a shot.
First find out what is your "average mpg" on your SID. Than go buy only a gallon of gas. Your DTE on your SID should increase only by that "average mpg".
If not, than I wouldn't trust your DTE on SID.
BTW, I never done this, because I rarely see info like DTE, average mpg, and other thing...(I can't remember off of my head - there are 4 infos right? one that I keep is the temp...)on my SID, so I never tested.
I have switched to DTE before when my gas light was on and I'm trying to get to the gas station, but didn't run out of the gas and had my DTE go all the way down to 6 miles :)
