Saab has to be able to penetrate this ignorance to sell more cars and while the sales for 2003 are fantastic for Saab, they need to sell more than 48000 cars in the USA to survive. The 9-3SS is breaking through that barrier and stealing sales from Audi, BMW and MB in the "small" luxury segment but this momentum needs to continue. I honestly do think that the aforementioned carmakers are starting to take Saab seriously because salesmen from these carmakers were paying some close attention to the
9-3SS at last years Vancouver Auto Show. Lets be honest here, the 9-3SS looks better than all of their offerings anyway.
All we have to do is convince Joe Public and I think that means re-looking at the advertising campaign coz I dont think the "State of Independence" really says anything about Saab cars except "they are quirky". What Saab needs to make commercials that show how a Saab drives, how bloody fast they are to make the view think WHOAAA!!
