personally, i just bought a 2001 93 (non-viggen) and i live in the 3rd worst place to live in the us based on average snowfall. no i'm not kidding, there was a study. and i've never had problems with it on bad roads, i did get hung up on the front axel once, but that wasn't the car's fault. i only paid 13,000 for it, and there was 45k miles on it. if you've got the money to spend, and you're good at convincing yourself that you need more horsepower to get up a hill, even though you're going to not want your tires to spin anyway, then i guess buy the viggen. but insurance is more, and i didn't see any need to get it for winter performance's sake. also, mine has the winter driving setting, which does well on icy hills and etc. so maybe check to see if it has that setting (i heard it was optional.)
